From Yorkshire… to Spain… and back to myself

I'm Donna.

A Yorkshire girl who somehow found herself building a new life in Spain with my wonderful partner, Simon.

People often tell me how lucky I am to live surrounded by sunshine, mountains and beautiful views.

And they’re right.

It’s a wonderful place to call home.

But moving to Spain wasn’t the thing that changed my life.

Because I discovered something that completely shifted the way I understood myself.

You can change your postcode…

your job…

your relationship…

even the country you live in…

…and still find yourself carrying exactly the same invisible weight.

I could be surrounded by nature…

yet my mind was already in tomorrow.

I could be watching the sunset…

while replaying a conversation from earlier that day.

I could be physically present…

but mentally somewhere else.

That realisation changed everything.

Because I finally understood that it wasn't my circumstances I was carrying.

It was the way my mind and body had learned to carry life.

Where it all began

Before any of this, I worked in accounts in the corporate world.

Then my own health forced me to stop and pay attention.

Years of debilitating IBS led me to begin exploring something I'd never really considered before…

the connection between the mind and body.

At first, I was simply looking for answers for myself.

What I found completely changed the direction of my life.

I trained as a hypnotherapist, eventually becoming a tutor and teaching students throughout Yorkshire before moving to Spain to teach internationally.

I loved helping people change.

But something kept capturing my attention.

Some people seemed to transform remarkably quickly.

Others understood everything intellectually…

desperately wanted life to feel different…

yet somehow found themselves repeating the same emotional patterns.

That question stayed with me.

Because I knew it wasn't about intelligence.

Or motivation.

Or effort.

There was something happening beneath the surface.

And I wanted to understand it.

My work has evolved… because I have too

Today I no longer teach or practice traditional hypnotherapy.

Not because it wasn't valuable.

It absolutely was.

But over the years my work naturally evolved.

I became less interested in changing thoughts…

and far more interested in understanding what was keeping those patterns alive in the first place.

The invisible emotional load.

The nervous system patterns that quietly convince us we must stay one step ahead.

The emotional residue we carry long after the moment has passed.

Because I've realised something.

Most women don't need fixing.

They've simply been carrying too much…

for too long.

And after enough years…

they stop questioning it.

They simply begin believing…

"This is just who I am."

I don't believe that.

The women I work with

The women who find me are rarely falling apart.

In fact…

they're often the women everyone else admires.

They're capable.

Successful.

Dependable.

The organiser.

The problem solver.

The one who remembers everything.

The woman everyone relies on.

From the outside…

they're coping beautifully.

But privately…

they're exhausted by a mind that never really finishes the day.

They replay conversations long after they've ended.

They carry work into dinner.

Tomorrow into today.

Responsibility into moments that were supposed to belong to them.

Some tell me they don't remember what it feels like to truly switch off.

Others say they've forgotten their softer side.

Many simply whisper…

"I don't feel like me anymore."

That sentence never stops me in my tracks.

Because I've said those words myself.

And I know they're rarely talking about ambition.

Or success.

They're talking about missing themselves.

What I believe

I don't believe you're broken.

I don't believe you're "just an over thinker."

I don't believe this is simply your personality.

I believe your mind and body learned patterns that once helped you cope…

but are no longer helping you live.

Because when you've spent years carrying responsibility…

staying prepared…

looking after everyone else…

your nervous system can quietly forget what "enough for today" actually feels like.

The cost isn't always dramatic.

Sometimes it's incredibly quiet.

It's missing parts of conversations with the people you love because your mind is somewhere else.

It's going on holiday…

but never really arriving.

It's feeling guilty the moment you finally sit down.

It's slowly becoming so good at carrying everything…

that you stop noticing what it's costing you.

I don't believe that's the price of being successful.

And I don't believe that's the life you worked so hard to build.

Life in Spain today

Today Simon and I are creating the next chapter of our lives here in Spain.

We're building a home surrounded by nature that will one day become a place for workshops, retreats, VIP days and deeper transformational experiences.

Every morning reminds me why this work matters.

Not because life is perfect.

It isn't.

I still navigate family challenges.

Grief.

Menopause.

Business.

Relationships.

Responsibility.

Life still asks a lot of me.

The difference now…

is those things no longer follow me into every walk…

every meal…

every conversation…

every sunset.

I no longer carry every challenge into every moment of my day.

And that has changed everything.

Not because my life became easier.

Because I finally get to experience it.

How I can help

Whether you begin inside The Reset Room™, work with me one-to-one, join The Regulation Room, or one day visit me here in Spain…

my intention is always the same.

To help you stop carrying life in a way that's quietly stopping you from fully living it.

Not by asking you to become someone different.

Not by asking you to care less.

Not by taking away your ambition.

But by helping your mind and body put down the invisible emotional weight that no longer belongs in your present.

Because I don't believe you worked this hard…

only to spend your life mentally somewhere else.

I believe you deserve to actually experience the life you've worked so hard to build.

And if you've found yourself reading this thinking…

"How does she know exactly what this feels like?"

It's because I've lived it too.

I'm so glad you're here.

Donna xx 💛
